Caregivers Need Support Too

About The Program

The Missouri Caregiver Program (MCP) is available with grant funds from the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) to address Alzheimer’s Disease and other related dementia. Community Asset Builders partners with the Greater Missouri Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association and Memory Care Home Solutions to make this program possible.

The MCP supports caregivers caring for their loved ones with memory loss in the home setting, throughout the state of Missouri through outreach, free care consultations, education, training, referrals, and financial support.

The MCP is designed to reduce stress, improve communication, make home safety improvements, and provide reimbursement for qualified care-related expenses — up to $1,000. It helps caregivers provide the best quality of life possible for their loved ones while reducing emotional and at least some financial burdens.

The program has three tracks with Track 1 performing an in-home safety consultation and education, Track 2 providing reimbursement for qualified care-related expenses, and Track 3 providing necessary care-related, assistive technology.

Track 1 Program – Caregiver Training

Caregiver Training is supported by Memory Care Home Solutions and Community Asset Builders. It is set up to help caregivers navigate caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s and other related dementia. Our trained and certified staff make a free, confidential in-home visit, provide caregiver education, link you to needed community resources, and much more!

There is no fee for this service.  For more information about Track 1 visit Memory Care Home Solutions website at https://memorycarehs.org/. To enroll, contact Memory Care Home Solutions at 314-645-6247 or Rusty Douglas at rusty@cabllc.com.

Track 2 – Caregiver Relief Program

Track 2 of the program is supported by the Greater Missouri Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association and Community Asset Builders. The Caregiver Relief Program involves an individualized care consultation to address unmet needs and link caregivers to resources and support. In addition, the Caregiver Relief Program reimburses caregivers up to $1000 for qualified expenses including, but not limited to:

  • In-home care
  • Adult daycare
  • Incontinence products
  • Safety and supportive programs
  • Counseling services
  • Nutritional supplements

Participants must start using funds within 60 days of enrollment and must use all available funds before May 31, 2024. Funds are capped at $1000, are contingent upon availability, and are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Track 3 Program – Home Safety Devices and Services Program

Track 3 of the program helps cover assistive technology. The program is set up to provide families’ flexibility by offering monitoring and safety devices that can help the caregiver monitor their loved one either remotely, or support monitoring at other times (sleeping, for example). This track will support caregivers who’s loved one is in the early stages of memory loss.

For more information on eligibility and how to enroll in Track 3 contact Erin Alewine at erin@cabllc.com or call 573-415-6247.
